Steve Keller began his career as a TV/VCR repairman in the early 80’s. His father worked at the Timken Co. as an Electrician and Control Technician for 46+ years. This is how he entered his technological career as a young man.

During his employment with ABB through the 2000’s as a Lead Commissioning Engineer, he supervised the commissioning of large scale industrial installations globally and wind energy farm operations. Also as a Field Service Engineer for service repair and the commissioning of industrial control systems utilizing PLCs, AC/DC Drives, instrumentation and controls used in industry. Steve also attended ABB University in Switzerland for Industrial Technologies.

Steve founded PLX Engineering Services in 2013 his firm provided consulting for electronic/electrical engineering including simulations, CAD/3D design, PLC-PIC programming, and factory architectural design. They also provided engineering services using Spice/CAD & PCB design, DAS, DAQ, DAU & HMI and a host of other disciplines.

He owned and operated a successful DJ/PA business for 20+ years and an “On Line” radio station for 10+ years. He was featured in NASA publications for circuits that he designed using NASA technologies.

His experiences have exposed him to numerous facets in the industrial field including communications, electronics, troubleshooting, problem solving, performance improvement projects, quality control and computers/IT. His confidence and expertise in these and other areas will prove to be an asset to this organization’s operations.

Stevens’s home life is community centered and he also mentors many students starting their career in technology. His hobbies include Ham Radio (KD8UJ), Classic cars, Bicycling, and Woodworking.

Stevens’s ongoing passion for technology and his defined engineering workflows gives Communication Specialists the advantage in the communication industry.
